HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-08-1963 Board of Health MinutesAugust 1963 The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met Aug 8, 1963 for a luncheon meeting at the Congress Inn, Dr. Heye presiding. Judge Abernethey reported on the progress being made in the mosquito control program, He suggested that a joint meeting of the County Medical Society and members of the Health Board be called to dis- cuss plans for the forthcoming election. Dr. Heye agreed to consult with the Saoity to arrange a suit- able date for the meeting. Mike Kirk repopated that he had visited with Blake Wood on the rent of the building proposed for use by the Health Department. Mr. Wood offered to rent the building for $150.00 per month -one year lease with an option to rent for another year. All improvements to the property would be made by the Health Unit and would become a permanent part of the building when the lease was terminated. Also all maintainance would be the responsibility of the Health Unit. Mike Kirk made the motion that the Board recommend that the properties be leased for the Health Department to the governing bodies. Second Oliver Harmel, Motion unaminously approved by the Board in a telephone pall taken to previous to todays luncheon meeting. Mayor Hood suggested that other towns in the county be contacted to deter mine their willingness to share in the remodeling expense. Dr. Heye appointed Oliver Harmel and Ray Blair to serve with him as a committee to select a slate of officers for the Health Board. Report of committee to be given at next regular board meeting. Oliver Harmel discussedreports made to him from local milk producers concerning problems arising over inspections being made by the local sanatarian. The Board recommended to Dr. Marshall that a meeting with producers, sanatarian and members of the Board be called to discuss better relations between all part- ies concerned in the problem.
