HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-10-1963 Board of Health MinutesOctober 1963 The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a regular luncheon meeting October 10,1963 at the Con- gress Inn, Chairman Brown presiding. Dr. Marshall presented current bills..Mike Kirk made the motion, seconded by Dr. Freeman, that bills be approved for payment..motion carried. Mayor Hood and Judge Abernethey reported that the contract for remodeling Health Unit had been completed and repairs were progressing satisfactorily. Motion made by Joe Mayo, seconded by Dr. Heye, that apprec- iation be expressed for the fine work as board chair- man by Ray Blair..motion carried. Judge Abernethey reported that the calling of the election for the mosquito control district had been postphoned. Dr. Heye reaffirmed the Medical Society's endorsement of the need for a control district to be established and also need for more specific informat- ion concerning cost and success. Recommendation was made to Dr. Marshall to investigate the possibility of securing speakers from the State Health Department to better inform the Medical Society and the Health Board. Regular monthly meeting of the Board changed to second Thursday of each month thus allowing time for all bills to be presented. This change agreeable to all Board members, Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Dr. Randall Heye, Dr. Ray Freeman, Edgar Brown, Joe Mayo, Mike Kirk, Mayor Hood, Judge Abernethey.
