The Plainview Hale County Board, of Health met in a
regular luncheon meeting March 12, 1964 at Wayne's
Restaurant, Chairman Brown presiding.
Mr. Brown welcomed special guest, members of the
City Council. In the business session to follow, Dr.
Marshall reported on a program to be held, at the Alcove
Restaumant by Dr. Fairchild, Austin. He envited members
of the Board to attend stressing the importance of estab
lishing offices for their work here in Plainview.
Dr. Marshall reviewed a program of Mental Health
being considered for our area and requestedA two
month leave of absence from his duties as Health
Director to study established centers in other states.
Leave to begin the middle of April. Joe Mayo moved
request be grantedo.subjedt to approval by the City
Council and Commissioners Court..second Oliver Har-
mel..motion carried.
Discussion followed, concerning need, for an interim
Director and also renumeration for service. Dr.
Freeman moved, that Dr. Heye be appointed, acting
direetor.,seeond Mary Wadzeck..mDtion carried.
Current bills were presented. Oliver Harmel
moved bills be approved for payment..second Ray
Blair, .motion carrIed.
Film of the City -County Childrens Clinic was
shown by Doris Meriwether and Mary Wadzeck.
Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Oliver
