04-09-1964 Board of Health Minutes
April 1964 The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a regular meeting April 9, 1964 at Wayne's Restaurant. Chairman Brown reported that Dr. Heye was unable to serve as interim director and that Dr. Ray Free- man had been appointed to fill the vacancy left by the absence of Dr. Marshall. The appointment of Dr. Freeman had been approved by Dr. L.P. Walter, State Health Department. Previous approval had been given by the City Council and Commissioners Court. Ray D. Blair made the motion that the Board endorse the appointment of Dr. Freeman and express appreciation to him for accepting the responsibility. The Board rec- ommended to the City Council and Commissioners Court that Dr. Freeman reeeive,as a minimum, fifty per cent of the regular salery paid the director, plus travel expense. Second..Oliver Harmel..motion carried. Judge Abernethy discussed a meeting, to be held in Austin April 2, concerning a Community Health Center. He advised that there was a ver sibility that such a center would be located©inpos- Plainview. Dr. Freeman presented current Health. Unit and Migrant Health bills. Ray Blair moved bills be approved for paymente.second Oliver Harmel.. motion carried. Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Ray D.
