ORDINANCE NO. 93-2950
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE ,ORDINANCE NO.
84-2550; PROVIDING FOR AN AMENDMENT TO ! 6.16(e), SERVICE
ENTRANCE AND SERVICt~ DROPS; PROVIDING FOR A
CUMULATIVENESS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A CONFLICTS
PROVISION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFt~CTIVE DATI~.
WHERF~S, Ordinance No. 84-2550, known as the City of Plainview Electrical
Code, sets forth the rules and regulations governing the Electrical Board; and
~qHEREAS, from time to time it is advisable to review the Electrical Code and
update such; and
WHERFJkS, it is found to be in the best interests of the City of Plainview to
amend the following sections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas that the Electrical Code shall be amended to read as follows:
Section I.
§ 6.16. Service Entrance and Service Drops.
(e)
SIZE OF METER BASES AND CONDUCTORS: Minimum size of meter
base and conductors for residential and commercial uses shall be rated
100 amp, and minimum size conductors shall be No. 4 cooper or No. 2
aluminum from the point of the service entrance to main circuit breaker
panel.
Section II.
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent,
alter or diminish the applicability or enforcement of other ordinances restricting,
regulating or governing the subject matter herein.
Section III.
All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas in
conflict herewith, are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
Section IV.
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof be deemed invalid for any
reason, such holding shall no1 render or invalidate any other section, sub-
section, sentence, provision, clause, phrase or word severable therefrom and the
same shall be deemed severable for this purpose.
Section V.
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication
as required by law.
