ORDINANCE NO. 93-2963
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAtNVIEN AMENDING
ARTICLE IV, CHAPTER 4, AMB~CES TO ~TJ~W FOR
THE UTILIZATION OF PRIVATE A~BULANCE SERVICE IN
TIME OF NATURAL DISASTER; SEVERAB~.I~ CLAUSE;
C~T~S CLAUSE; CONFLICTS' CLAUSE;
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview recognizes a need to have
the ability to utilize certain private arab-lance companies for emergency transport
to the hospital in time of natural disaster and/or emergency; and
'~PrIERF~S, the City Council feels it is in the best interest of the public health,
welfare and safety of the citizens of Plainview to allow Plainview Ambulance Service
to be utilized in time of natural disaster;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend the non-exclusive, non-emergency
franchise of the Plainview Ambulance Service in light of the fact that the term of the
original franchise has expired; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview that:
SECTION I
Article IV, Chapter 4, Ambulances be amended to include the following:
Sec. 4-49. Utilization in time of natural disaster and/or emergency.
Plainview Ambulance Service may be utili~.ed by the City of Plainview for Code 3
(Emergency) transfers to local hospitals in ~ime of natural disaster and[or
emergency.
SECTION II
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof be deemed invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not render or invalidate any other section, sub-section,
sentence, provision, clause, phrase, or word severable therefrom and the same shall
be deemed severable for this purpose.
SECTION III
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter,
or diminish the applicability or enforcement of other ordinances restricting,
regulating or governing the subject matter herein.

SECTION IV
All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas in
conflict herewith, are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION V
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication as
required by law.
