ORDINANCE - LICENSE AND PERMIT BOND REPEAL
ORDINANCE NO. 95-3039
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, HALE
COUNTY, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
CODE OF ORDINANCES, REPEALING SECTIONS 6-2, 10-75
AND 20-121 IN ENTIRETY, ELECTRICAL CODE,
ORDINANCE NO. 84-2550, SECTION 10-66-2,10-62-2 AND
4.15 PLUMBING CODE, ORDINANCE NO. 85-2587,
CHAPTER 10; REPEALING THE BOND REQUIREMENTS
FOR ELECTRICIANS, PLUMBERS AND GENERAL
CONTRACTORS; CUMULATIVENESS CLAUSE; CONFLICTS
CLAUSE; SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview City Council after consideration of the required
License and Permit Bond have found it to be unnecessary; and
WHEREAS, to provide convenience and accessibility to the Electrical, Plumbing and
general contractors; and
and
WHEREAS, to reduce paper work required by staff in the building inspectors office;
WHEREAS, to reduce the amount of postage required by the existing process; and
WHEREAS, to reduce the amount of time and labor spent by the staff in the building
inspectors office on keeping records of license and permit bonds, and;
WHEREAS, to eliminate requirement for license and permit bonds, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas the the Code of Ordinances be amended as follow:
CODE OF ORDINANCES
To repeal in entirety Sections 6-2, 10-75 and 20-121. Changes are reflected
in Section 10-62 and 10-66.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas that the Electrical Code be amended as follows:

To repeal in entirety Sections 10-66 part 2, Section 10-62 part 2, and Section
4.15.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council
Plainview, Texas that the Plumbing Code be amended as follows:
PLUMBING CODE
To repeal in entirety Chapter 10.

SECTION I
The City of Plainview Code of Ordinances, Section 6-2, 10-75 and 20-121, Electrical Code,
Ordinance No. 84-2550, Section 10-66 part 2, 10-62 part 2, and section 4.15, The City of
Plainview Plumbing Code, Ordinance No. 85-2587, Chapter 10; is hereby repealed.
SECTION II
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter, or
diminish the applicability or enforcement of other ordinances restricting, regulating or
governing the subject matter herein.
SECTION III
-All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas in conflict
herewith, are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION IV
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof be deemed invalid for any reason, such
holding shall not render or invalidate any other section, sub-section, sentence, provision,
clause, phrase, or word severable therefrom and the same shall be deemed severable for this
purpose.
SECTION V
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication as required
by law.
