Construction of Amarillo having a low bid of $122,380.80, subject to the possi-
bility of %~o revisions as agreed to by ~r. Novak and the City of Ptainview.

Ordinance No. 71-1183, an ordinance amending Zoning Ordina~ce No. 794 and
official map of the City of Plain¥ie~ so as to make the following cha~ge~: request
of B.A.V. Developers Inc. for rezonSang of a tract of land from a. R-1 Zone to a
R-2 Zone, being a 32 acre tract of land out of Section 26, Block JK-2 (Zone Case
No. 203). Motion carried tn~animously.

Discussion was held ori a letter received from O. L. Crain, District
Eagineer, Te~as Highway Department, w-ith regard to Co!~mmbia Street intersection
~ith 24th Street. G. E. Allen presented his views o~ the subject. It was
decided to contact Mr. Crain m~d ask him to appear uefore the Co~_ci! to discuss
t%is intersection.
Discussion was also held on the proposed street improvements in the vicinity
of 24th Street from_ Edgemere Drive to interstate 27. It was moved by Alderman.
Williams, seconded by Alderman Carpenter~ to authorize the extension of an
'~h H~ ~h Plains Pavers to construct the farm-to-market
existing paving contract wm~ ~
type road. Motion carried u~animously.
City Manager Marshall Pharr reviewed r~e proposed personnel procedures
and recommended grievance procedure for the City of Plainview. A booklet will
be prov. ided with all of ~he proposed procedures ~d presented to the Council.
Received for filing was a copy of the Newsletter, Volume I, Is~ae 8.
Discussion was held concerning information presented by Johnnie Ballew
with regard to the newly developed City of Plainview Civil Defense Plan.
It was moved by A!derma~n Wi!li~s, seconded by Alderman Carpenter, to adopt
A~propriation OrdL~ance No. 71-I!82 from the General Fund, Acct. 418, in the
amount of $509.65 payable to Motoroia Communications & ~lectronics for the pur-
chase of one (i) MO3ONB-!103/W Receiver, installed. Motion carried unanh~.ously.
It was moved by Alderm~n Williams, seconded by Alderm~m Carpenter, to
adopt Appropriation Ordinm~ce No. 71-1184 from the General Fund, Acct. 418, 608-701;
in the mno~nt of $30.00 payable to Carl Williams, Registered Public Su~eyor-, for
surveying plat a~.d description of a tract out of the East part of Block 14, and
~e West one-half of Hickory Street betm~een Blocks 14 and 15, McC!elland Addition.
Motion carried tmanimously.
It was moved by Alderman Williams, seconded by ~Iderman Cross, to ~dopt
Appropriation Ordinance No. 71-1185 from the General Fm~d, Acct. 418, 608-701;
in the amount of $106.50 payable to Security Abstract & Title Company for Abstract
#'19,697, Lots 1, 2~ 3, 4, and "A", Block Ntmber 14, McClet!and Addition to the
town of Plainview~ Hale County, Texas. Motion carried unanJa.~ously.
It was moved by Alderman Ca~penter, seconded by Aides, an Williams, to
authorize the City Manager to sign a contract with R. A. Vernon for tB~ removal of
salvageable material on cm~y property located in the vicinity o~ Baltimore and 13th
Streets. Motion carrie, d unanLmously.

the Tax Assessor to appraise Lot 5, Block ~ Montrose Addition, to declare it
