A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS, APPROVING THE REQUEST OF PLAINVIEW HALE COUNTY
CRIME STOPPERS TO APPLY FOR A CJD GRANT FROM THE
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE; DECLARING THAT THE GRANT WOULD
SERVE A PUBLIC PURPOSE; AND AGREEING TO SUPPORT AND TO
PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THE PLAINVIEW HALE COUNTY CRIME
STOPPERS IN THEIR EFFORT TO ASSIST LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO COMBAT THE INCREASE IN
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY IN OUR COMMUNITY; DESIGNATING AN
AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL AND AUTHORIZING SUCH OFFICIAL TO
EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY; AND PLEDGING
COMPLIANCE TO THE AWARDED GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, grant funds are available through the Criminal Justice Division (CJD)
of the Governor's Office of the State of Texas, to provide assistance to local Crime
Stoppers agencies to combat the increase of criminal activity; and
WHEREAS, the Plainview Hale County Crime Stoppers program is eligible to
apply for said grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas finds it in the best
interest for the citizens of Plainview that the CJD Funds be used by the Plainview Hale
County Crime Stoppers program to operate their program by using said grants funds for
equipment, training, and operating costs;
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that the Plainview Hale County Crime
Stoppers program is a solid program with thirty (30) years experience and meets all
guidelines set by the State of Texas;
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the
CJD Funds, the City Council assures that the Funds will be returned to the CJD in full;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council further designates Mayor John C. Anderson as the
grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for,
accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of
Plainview that:
Submission of the CJD Grant Application for an approximate amount of Ten
Thousand and No /100 Dollars ($10,000.00) for the Plainview/ Hale County Crime

Stoppers Program Project 2010 to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division,
is hereby approved.
This Resolution's public purpose is to support and assist the Plainview Hale
County Crime Stoppers program grant application to the CJD of the Office of the
Governor of the State of Texas for funds to operate the Plainview /Hale County Crime
Stoppers program and support their goal to suppress crime in our community.
The City Council hereby designates Mayor John C. Anderson as the
grantee's authorized official. Mayor Anderson is authorized to execute on behalf of the
City of Plainview all necessary documents, including for the Plainview /Hale County
Crime Stoppers program, to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on
behalf of the applicant agency.
