HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-2908131 AMENDMENT - REFUSE COT J.~.CTION FEES; WATER TERMn~ATION ORDINANCE NO. 92-2908 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 24-47 ENTITLED "REFUSE COLLECTION FEES; WATER TERMINATION" ~ OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PLAI~, TEXAS WHEREAS, City Administration has compleled a detailed analysis of sanitation revenues and expenses; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined a need for a new landfill site; And WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase refuse collection and disposal fees to provide funds for development of a landfill solid waste dL~posal site; and WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting on February 11, 1992, the proposed rate adjustments were reviewed by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the city Council of the City of Plainview, TeXas, that Section 24-47 entitled "Refuse Collection Fees; Water Termination" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of P1Ainview, Texas is amended in its entirety and from henceforth shall read as follows: Section 24-47. Refuse Collection Fees; Water Termination. a) Class I: The collection and removal of refuse from houses, buildings, and premises used for residential purposes shall be classified as Class I. Residential Houses are hereby classified as Follows: Class I-A -- one residential unit. $ Class I-B -- two residential units with one water meter. CLASS I-C -- three residential units with one water meter. Class I-D -- two residential units on separate water meters. Class I-E -- three residential units on separate water meters. Class I-F -- one residential unit and apartments on one water meter, each unit Class I-G -- apartment house or trailer park with four or more residential units, with one mandatory three cubic yard container. 12.80 monthly 25.60 38.40 25.60 38.40 12.80 51.20 For each additional container determined by the Sanitation Superintendent to be needed 51.20 Any Class I customer who desires Class II service may be provided such subject to approval of the Sanitation Superintendent. Payments of amounts due for refuse collection and disposal service shall be made within the time set forth on the water bill and slqall be subject to the same penalty set forth thereon. If the refuse fee is not paid when it becomes due, then the City shall refuse to furnish any water and]or refuse collection and disposal service to the residence, apartments, dormitory or establishment for which such refuse collection fee has not been paid. d) Commercial Rates Outside City. This amendment shall be effective with the first billing in April, 1992. Section 3: Conflicts. To the extent that any provisions in this ordinance are in conflict with or inconsistent with any provisions of any other ordinance or Code provisions, the terms of this ordinance shall prevail.
