ORDINANCE NO. 92-2911
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE
ORDINANCR NO. 84-2550; PROVIDING FOR AN
AMENDMENT TO ! 1.4(k), MAINTENANCE
ELECTRICIAN; PRO¥IDING FOR A
CUMUI~TIVENESS CLAUSE; PRO¥IDING FOR A
CONFLICTS PROVISION AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 84-2550, known as the City of Plainview
Electrical Code, sets forth the rules and re~flations governing the Electrical
Board; and
WHEREAS, from time to time it is advisable to review the Electrical Code
and update such; and
WHEREAS, it is found to be in the best interests of the City of
Plainview to amend the following sections;
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas that the EIectrical Code shall be amended to read as
follows:
Section 1:
Sec. 1.4 (k). Maintenance Electrician.
Maintenance Electrician shall mean one who is employed by one employer
to maintain existing electrical installations in a designated building or
buildings either (1) owned by his employer or (2) operated under a
maintenance contract by his employer. A person holding this license
shall not otherwise engage himaelf as either a Master, Journeyman, or
Apprentice Electrician, nor engage himself as a Maintenance Electrician
on any buildings other than those designated on the Maintenance
License.
Section 2: Cumulativeness.
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall
prevent, alter, or diminish the applicability or enforcement of other
ordinances restricting, regulating, or governing the subject matter
herein.
Section 3: Conflicts.
All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview,
Texas in conflict herewith, are hereby amended to conform with the
provisions hereof.

Section 3: Effective Date.
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and
publication as required by law.
