The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met 13 May
1965 at the Alcove Restaurant, Chairman Kirk presiding.
Mr. Kirk and Mayor Hood expressed appreciation for the
Board's attendance at the Vector Control meeting. Mayor
Hood stated that the indicated results from the meeting
was a definated need for a steering committee comprised
of Mayors, news media, farm groups and others in the
county for further study of future plans for mosquito
control,
Dr, Freeman presented proposed budget to Board
noting reccomended changes made by the budget committee.
It was agreed by the Board to delete salery for stastical
clerk due to inadequate housing in the Health Department
of records. Dr. Freeman made the motion that the Board
of Health recommend to the City Council and Cbrnrnissioners
Court that they approve the budget of $402791.00 for the
operation of the Health Department. Second Edgar Brow...
motion carried.
Dr, Marshall advised that urgent need for office
equiptment and furniture for the personel arriving in
June to work on mosquito studies. Mayor Hood and Judge
Abernethy agreed to help resolve the problem.
Currant bills were presented. Ray Blair moved bills
be approved for payment..second Edgar Brown..motion carried.
Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Mike Kirk
Judge Abernethy, Mayor Hood, Ray Blair, Edgar Brown,
Dr. Marshall, Dr. Ray Freeman.
