When patient (human .or. egulne) is first seen, need:
I. Acute blood, sf,oci sample rectalswab, and throat sweb

tO doctors for :swabs; sterile tubes for blood.

What field laboratory will do to expedite flow of specimens:
Will pick up immediately any stool specimen or•throat swabs. for

be frossa.
Acute serum-labwill separate serum from alot and centrifuge
serum and prepare for shipment.
Field labwill be rosp,onsible for shipping on dry1ce pecina
to apprcYpriate laboratories.
Will suPply laboratories and hospite- with sterile tub ee media,
and equipment for taking apcinens.
Principal Laboratories making Examinations:
1. The Texas. State Department of Health Laboratories will teat acutAls
and convalescent blood specimens and will report directly to
physician and:health unit.
2. ViTU2 isoletiourwill be don e by laboratories in Greeley„ Colorado;
Kansas City, Kansas; and Austin but reports will come to the
health 11;ait.

Please be advised that I have examined the books of account of the Plainview
Hale County Health Unit for the period beginning September 4, 1962 and ending
December 31, 1964.
As a result of this examination, I submit the following summary of cash
receipts and disbursements;

The above funds represent Hale County's share of the joint City - County
health unit. All expenditures are currently being made by the City of Plainview.
At the end of each month, an itemized statement of expenditures is submitted by
the City to the Health Unit, whereupon, the City is reimbursed for one-half of
the total expenditures.
