The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met December
9, 1965 at the Alcove, Chairman Kirk presiding.
Mr. Kirk advised that all necessary papers, oath
of off ice, etc. concerning Dr. Weidenbacks appointment
as interim director had been mailed to the State Dept.
of Public Health. Clarification, by the Board, was
needed for payroll recordsvbeginning date of Dr. Weld-
enbacks employment. Joe Mayo ulnae the motion that
the November 11th minutes be corrected to read: Dr.
Weidenback be appointed to serve as acting director
beginning November 12, 1965, until the services of a
permanent director oould be secured..second Dr. Free-
man. .motion carried.
Dr. Weidenback presented current Health Department
bulls. Oliver Harmel moved bills be approved..second
Dr. Freeman..motion carried.
Reporting on Health Unit activities, Dr. Weidenback
advised that Mrs. Hunt had been employed to fill the
vacency of clerd. The need had arised for someone in
the Health Department be authorized to serve as notery.
Dr. Freeman moved that the Health Department make appl-
ication to authorize the permanent clerk to serve as a
notery, paying the Botery Bond fee..second Dr. Heye..
motion carried.
Dr. Heye advised that letters advising vacancy of
Health Direcotr had been mailed to Doctors indicating
interest when the Health Unit was organized. Also adv-
ertisement in the American Journal of Public Health wou-
ld begin first of January 1966. The Board approved
10.00 per month advertising cost. The Board also
suthorized Dr. Weidenbatk to obtain all information
necessary to submit application for continuing the
Migrant Health Grant.
Meettng adjourned. Members attending: Mike Kirk,
Joe Mayo, Dr. Freeman, Judge Abernethy, Oliver Harmel,
Ray D. Blair, Dr. Heys, Dr. Weidenbaok, Sue Barfoot.
