HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-10-1966 Board of Health MinutesMarch 1966 The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met March 10, 1966 in a regular luncheon meeting at Wayne's Restaurant, Oliver Harmel presiding. Dr. Weidenback advised the Board that Catherine E. Coleman, Director of Home Health Service, had contacted the Health Unit to determine interest in home nursing for the Medicare program. The recommendation was made by the Board, that Dr. Coleman should be envited to visit our Health Unit and explain the complete program to the staff nurses. Area of responsibility of the Health Unit could then be determined and a decision made at that time. Need for a petty cash fund was discussed by Edgar Brown. Mr. Brown made the motion that $50.00 be all- ocated for such fund to be used in the Health Unit for minor expenses. Second Ray Blair..motion carried. Dr. Weidenback advised that Dr. Dorothy Long had resigned at clinician for Well Child Conference. The suggestion was made that a letter of appreciation should be written to Dr. Long and also to the County Medical Society for their interest in this Health Department service. The Board was advised that Petersburg was the only town in the County charging building rent for Clinics held by the nursing staff. Recommendation made that Miss. Barfoot be authorized to contact Joe Mayo and investigate the possibility of securing the building now used, rent free. Current bills were presented. Dr. Freeman moved btlls be approved for payment..second Edgar Brown.. motion carried. Meting adjourned. Members attending: Oliver Harmel, Ray D.
