The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a regular
luncheon meeting November 10,1966 at Waynes Restaurant,
Chairman Kirk presiding.
Mr. Kirk introduced guest Kim Beaton and. Allen Rigler,
Hospital Administrator and Chairman of the Hospital Board,
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Dr. Weidenback reported that the Migrant Health Grant
was progressing satisfactorily and only routine activit-
ies in the Health Department.
Chairman Kirk advised the Board that the Whitesides
building had been inspected and could be remodeled to
fit the needs of the Health Unit. Rental would be app-
roximately $300.00 per month but some funds from the
Migrant Health Grant could be used to supplement local
monies, Mr. Kirk requested Dr. Weidenbaok and Clifton
Martin secure two bids for remodeling and present the
estimates to the City Council and Commissioners Court.
Mr. Kirk read a letter from Kim Beaton, Hospital
Admidistrator, requesting funds from the Health Unit,
to replace worn cassettes. Mr. Beaton explained that
X Ray services had been given the Health Department, at
no cost to the Unit, and asked that the Board approve
some funds to replace this equiptment. Mr. Kirk asked
Dr. Widenbaok to contact the State Health Department
and explore the possibility of their having such funds
in their budget. Some help from the local unit would
also be made available.
Mayor Hood reported that bids had been received on
the oar owned by the Health Department. High bid came
from Martin Motor Co. for $455,00. Ray Bair moved
the bid from Martin Motor Company,.second Oliver Harmel..
motion carried.
Current bills were presented. Ray Blair moved bills
be approved for payment..sabOect to adjustment in the
Harder Insurance Company bill for insurance on the oar
to be sold..second Oliver Harmel..motion carried.
Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Mike Kirk,
Oliver Hamel, Ray D. Blair, Judge Abernethy, Marshall
Pharr, Joe Mayo, Mayor Hood, Dr. Carl Weidenbaok, Clif-
ton Martin and guest: Kim Beaton and. Allen Rigler.
