The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a
regular luncheon meeting at Waynes Restaurant March
9.1967, Chairman Kirk presiding.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved.
Dr. Weidenback presented current bills and
reported a staff vacancy in the Health Unit with
the resignation of Eric Perkins, sanitarian.
Clifton Martin advised the Board that the Unit
had received Award letter from the Migrant program
confirming $47,560.00 grant. He and Dr. Weidenback
planned to attend a meeting of Hospital administra
tors and persons envolved in Migrant Health at the
City -County Health Department in Lubbock. Purpose
of the area meeting would be discussion of require-
ments for in-patient migrant care.
Mayor Hood told of the City's participation
in a mosquito control program. The Federal govern-
ment would provide planes for aerial spraying.The
City would provide insecticide program would
be conducted on an expermential basis.
Mrs. Truesdala told of a family planning program
beginning 5th of April. She also reported that a
serum survey was being conducted with some 200
Petersburg school children participating.
Proposal for renting the Bryan Building from
Mr. Walter Haynes was tabled for discussion at a
later date.
Edgar Brown moved bills be approved for payment.

Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Marshall
Pharr, Judge Abernethy, Mike Kirk, Ray D. Blair,
Edgar Brown, Mayor Hood, Dr. Carl Weidenback, Mary
Lou Truesdale, Clifton Martin, Dr. Randall Heye,
Joe Mayo, Oliver Hamel.
