The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a
called meeting Monday, November 27, 1967 at Wayne's
Restaurant, Joe Mayo presiding.
Members present: Oliver Harmel, Ray D. Blair,
Mayor Hood, Dr. Ray Freeman, Dr. Randall Heye.
Purpose of the meeting was to discuss letter written
to Commissioners Court on action taken by the Board in
the November 15th meeting. Also Migrant Health Grant to
be discussed.
Dr. Ray Freeman made the motion that the Board
resolutions be quoted verbatim in a letter written by
the secretary to the Commissioners Court. Second Dr.
Heye..motion carried. The secretary Joewas instructed to
write the letter, mailing a copy to
Dr. Heye proposed that, in view of the tended resig-
nation of Dr. Weidenback, the Board should make a dec-
ision concerning sponsorship of the Migrant Health
Grant. The following motion was made by Dr. Heye and
the second by Dr. Freeman: since there is a posibility
we will not have an acting director, as of January1,196$,
and furtherm in view of the fact that the Board feels
that the Migrant Health program must be retained intact
for the community, the Board respectfully request Dr.
Carl P. Weidenback to take necessary steps in attempting
to obtain another qualified sponsor for the jprogram.
Copies of letter stating Board action be sent to Mayor
Hood, Judge Abernethy, Joe Mayo. Motion carried. --
Meeting adjourned.
