Members attending: Dr. Randall Hey , Ray Dartin, y D. Blair, Mayor Hood, Judge Abernethy, Joe Mayo, Marshall Pharr, Oliver Harmel, Mary Lou Truesdaye, Edgar Brown and guest: Ralpy Mitchell, State et Sanitarianband Consultant for ment Pulic Health and rthy eeMigrant elashaw- District Sa Health Grant. were read and Minutes of the previous meeting approved. Mary Lou Truesdale presented a monthly summary of Healh Unit acitvities noting that here had Ranch been one confirmed. case of Dypthetiat House Restaurant. The owner had taken necessary precautions -closing for three days and having test made on all employees. milk permit A sanitarian problem concerning with a local dairy was in the process of being resolved. Chairman Mayo appointed Marshall Pharr to work with news media authorizing him to release any news item from. the Health Department. Clifton Martin advised the Board that Mr.. Glen Bell, with Migrant Health Grant, had been informed by telephone of the absence of a Health Director and letter of confirmation would be sent. Oliver Harmel moved letter be sent from the Board.. second. Ray D. Blair..motion carried. Mr. Martin stated that he had received a tele- gram from Rep. George Mahon confirming Migrant Health Grant approval in the amount of $70,725.00. Signature for paying out migrant cheeks was needed to replace Dr. Weidenback. Oliver Harmel moved that Joe Mayo's signature be authorized..second Edgar Brown..motion Carried. Chairman Mayo suggested that Larry 1'eckham,county auditor, act as paying agent for the County's part of the Health Department bills since he was paying agent for the Migrant Grant. Ray Blair moved Rthis action be approved by the Board.. second Dm. ll Heye..motion carried. Mr. 'Mayo instructed the secre- tary to give Mr. Peckham sll the records and release any funds in the Health Unit account. page two January 11, 1968 Oliver Harmel moved currentbills be approved for payment..seoond Edgar Brown..motion carried. Judge Abernethy requested that Mr. Martin and Mrs. Truesdale attend Commissioners Court 4th Monday of each month and also furnish the Court with a written narrative report of Health Depart- ment activities. Mayor Hood also requested that a monthly narrative report be furnished the City Council. Chairman Mayo read a letter from Dr. A.J. Harvis applying for director vacancy. Letter referred to application committee for further study. The Board moved to table the application for further action. Dr. Here suggested that a letter be sent Mrs. Truesdale confirming her appointment to act as administrator until a Health Director could be secured.
