The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met
February 8, 1968 at the Alcove Restaurant in a
regular luncheon meeting, Chairman Mayo presiding.
Members attending: Ray D. Blair, Marshall Pharr,
Mary Lou Truesdale, Judge Abernethy, Edgar Brown,
Dr. Randall Heye, Mayor Hood.
Chairman Mayo noted the application for Medical
Director received from Dr. H.J. Harvis, Mr. Mayo
instructed the secretary to write a letter to D.
Harvis expressing appreciation for his interest
but advising him that the vacancy had been filled.
Mrs. Truesdale reported that all employees of the
Ranch House Restaurant had returned to work and no
further evidence of infection. One problem existed
with a local dairy -Mr. Cates, operating with a temp-
orary milk permit was notcooperating in helping to
come to an agreeable solution. Mr. Truesdale
complimented the work of the sanitarians in trying
to help resolve the milk problem.
Narrative report of Health Department activities
and current bills were bresented.
Ray Blair moved, bills, be approved for payment.
Second. Edgar Brown. .motion carried.
Mrs. Truesdale reported Migrant Grant bills for
the month of December were $955.01 -Hospital, and
$671.00-physioians fees in the County. One quart-
erly payment had been received from the grant.
Chairman Mayo advised the Board that Dr. Gerald
Wagmme had accepted the position of Acting Director
for the Health Dopartment. Oath of office had been
administered and State Health Department had been
advised.
