The Plainview Hale County Board of Health met in a
regular luncheon meeting Thursday February 13, 1969
at the Algove, Chairman Mayo presiding. Minutes of
the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mrs. Truesdale reported on Health Unit activities
in the absence of Dr. Wagner. 539 children in Abern-
athy had, received immunization and class on Problems
in Pregnancy was being conducted there. A class in
Plainview High School was being conducted, by Mrs.
Truesdale for the Vocational Homemaking students.
Nurses, serving three didtricts, had rendered serv-
ice to 836 patients.Nurses duties: Miss Killingsworth
-Hale Center, Mrs. Goheed-Abernathy, Cotton Center,
Mrs. Bush -Petersburg.
Mrs. Truesdale that a class in maternal child
health was the most pressing need at the present.
Judge Abernathy requested a letter be written
from the Health Department stating the position
of this Unit in Edmondson water testing program,
letter mailed to him.
After a lengthy discussion concerning request
made to The Commissioners Court by the Health Board,
Chairman Mayo appointed. Oliver Harmel, Dr. Ray Freeman,
and. Edgar Brown to serve with him as a committee to
visit with the Court at their convenience.
Current bills were presented. Ray Blair moved bills
be approved for payment..second Edgar Brown..motion
Carried.
Meeting adjourned. Members attending: Edgar
Brown, Dr. Randall Heye, Dr. Ray Freeman, Oliver
Harmel, Ray Blair, Joe Mayo, Mayor Hood, Judge
Abernethy, Mary Lou Truesdale, Clifton Martin.
