HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-12-1970 Board of Health MinutesThe Plainview -Hale County Health Board met at the Alcove Restaurant at 12:30 P.M., November 12, 1970. Members present were: Dr. Gerald Wagner, Mrs. Mary Lou Truesdale Judge C.L. Abernethy, Oliver Harmel, Clifton Martin, Id.s, Clara Neis, Edgar Brown, Ray D. Blair and Dr. Randall Heye. Minutes of the meeting of September 10, 1970, were read and approved. Dr. Wagner reported that the two Migrant Health meetings held at McAllen and Plainview were quite successful. Dr. Wagner stated that the Health, Education and Welfare Board had requested that more migrants and persons closely involved with migrants' problems be on the Health Board, or serve as an Advisory group. A ,discussion followed. Dr. Heye moved that the Board recommend to the governing bodies that five representatives of the migrant program meet with this board to work on the migrant health program. Edgar Brown seconded motion. Motion carried. Ray Blair made a motion to pay September and October bills. Edgar Brown seconded motion. Motion carried. Clifton Martin reported that out-patient funds being with- held to take care of emergencies was approximately $1000 and drugs $250. Mary Lou Truesdale reported a new aide who had had one year experience in Migrant Health program; the immunization clinics have triped since August 1st; TB Test Program revealed 3 active cases; some 20 animals have been sent in for rabies test, a of which had rabies; and that participation in clinics had been very good.
