at 1001 Ash Street at 7:30 P.M., April 28, 1971, with the follow-
ing present: Dr. Gerald Wagner, Mary Lou Truesdale, Sam Langford,
Edgar Brown, Oliver Hamel, Dr. Ray Freeman, Ray D. Blair, and
Clara Neis.
President Langford presided and stated that the purpose of the
meeting was for a Budget Hearing, and to make recommendations
to the City and County on the proposed 1971-72 budget.
Dr. Wagner stated that the proposed salary increases in the pro-
posed budget had been set up according to the Merit System recom-
mended by the State Department of Health and at the rate approved
by the State Legislature. The present setup for mileage was also
discussed.
Dr, Wagner stated that classes at the various schools are being
taught by Mary Lou Truesdale at his instructions and supervision
and it was his desire to educate and advertise the work of the
Health Department at all times.
By secret ballot the following recomrnendationswere made to the
City Council and Commissioners' Court:
By a vote of three to two, Dr. Gerald Wagner's salary will remain
the same as last year;
of four to zero, Helen Killingsworthls salary will be
the figure shown on proposed bedget for 1971-72;
of four to zero, John Ray Sanitarian's salary will be
figure shown on proposed budget for 1971-72;
of three to two, against hiring a new nurse at this

By a vote of four to zero, mileage will be paid at rate of 120
per mile while on Health Board duty and voucher must be supplied
with claim for such mileage.
No further business appearing, meeting adjourned.
