HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-15-1971 Board of Health MinutesThe Plainview -Hale County Health Board met at the Alcove Restau-
rant at 12:30 P.M., July 15, 1971, with the following present:
Dr. Randall Heye, Oliver Harmel, Sam Langford, Dr. Gerald Wagner,
Mary Lou Truesdale, Clara Neis, Judge Henry Heck and Ray Blair.
Minutes of the meetings of May 20, 1971 and June 17, 1971, were
read. Oliver Harmel moved that minutes be approved. Dr. Heye
seconded motion. Motion carried.
Judge Henry Heck reported that Joe Mayo advised that he did not
wish to serve on the Board. Oliver Harmel made motion that Mayo's
resignation be accepted. Ray D. Blair seconded motion. Motion
carried.
To comply with recent legislation, the county was asked to appoint
a doctor and the city a dentist member of the Board.
Ray D. Blair made motion that bills for May and June, 1971, be paid.
Dr. Heye seconded motion. Motion carried.
A discussion prevailed on the water waste from the office air con-
ditioner and the expense involved. Oliver Harmel made a motion
that Mary Lou Truesdale get it fixed using her own judgment and if
in her opinion the fee is too high, to call some members of the
Board. Dr. Heye seconded motion. Motion carried.
Mary Lou Truesdale was asked to prepare a written agreement with
Jimmy Raymer on the share of the utility bills to ,be paid by him
and by the board.
Dr. Wagner stated that the HEW grant had been approved for period
6/1/71 thru 5/31/72 with a renewal agreement to 5/31/73. James
David Oates has been named as administrator and will be at the next
board meeting.
Mary Lou Truesdale presented a rough draft of policy and procedure
which was circulated among members, copy of which is attached to
these minutes.
Dr. Heye made a motion that a correction to the budget be made to
include retirement fund overlooim- and increased additional sala-
ries. Ray Blair seconded motion. Motion carried.
The problems of the VEE epidemic were discussed.
Judge Henry Heck brought to the attention of the Board the need
of a local citizen (Lee Kidd) for a kidney machine and stated he
understood that there was such a machine that had never been
uncrated at the local hospital but noone knew how to operate it.
Further investigation was suggested.
