HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-22-1973 Board of Health MinutesThe Plainview -Hale County Board of Health met in a special called
meeting Thursday, February 22, 1973, at 7:30 P.M. at the City
National Bank meeting room with the following present: Dr. Felix
Crawford, Dr. D.J. Truitt, David Oates, Dr. Gerald Wagner, Roy
Long, Marshall Pharr, Judge Henry Heck, Ray D. Blair, Clara Neis,
and James Clayton.
The purpose of the meeting was to consider future operations
within existing facilities. At present all programs are operated
under one roof which is the most efficient way. However, present
HEW plans call for a full time physician and adequate facilities.
A discussion prevailed and it was agreed that the present facilities
would be inadequate and too congested for the increased patient
services.
It was suggested that new construction be checked into under the
Hill -Burton act,. .and check to see if the immediately needed facility
could be leased.
Mr. Roy Long presented the four alternatives being checked into:
1. Rent another building for the entire operation; 2. Separate
facilities; 3. New construction; and 4. Have someone build a new
building and rent same.
Discussion followed but no action was taken.
No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned.
President ' Clara Neis, Secretary
