HomeMy WebLinkAbout11.26.2001 BA MinutesBOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES 11-26-2001 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: John Bickel, Jennifer Wright, Max Browning, Fred Willis, Charlene Jones STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: John Castro, Director of Community Services, Audra Ramos, COmmunity Development Secretary OTHER GUEST PRESENT: Roy Parr, Joseph Perez, Alton Wyatt, Gabriel Gonzales, Maria Gonzales First item on the agenda: Approval of October 2001 minutes. Motion carried 5-0. Second item on the agenda: The request of Jack Thomas for a variance of twenty-five (25) feet of the required twenty-five (25) foot front setback as stated in Section 34 of the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance to build a 25'X 21' carport in a Single Family Residential (R-2) Zoning District, and being Lot E2-3 All 4, Block 6, Montrose Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas and same being 703 W. 22nd Street. John Castro presented the case to the board. Roy Parr was present to represent Jack Thomas. This case was tabled in the October meeting due to discrepancies in the size of the carport. There were 5 responses from the community received, all in favor of approving the variance. Motion to approve the variance was made and seconded due to fids being the only logical location for the carport. The Board carried the motion 5-0. Third item on the agenda: The request of Alton Wyatt for a variance of twenty-three (23) feet of the required thirty (30) foot front setback and four (4) feet of the required eight (8) foot side setback as stated in Section 34 of the City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance to construct a 24' X 12' carport in a Single Family Residential (R-l) Zoning District, and being Block 2, Lot E/2 - 14 & t5, Howell Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas and same being 2406 W. 14~ Street. John Castro presented the case. Mr. Alton Wyatt was present to represent his request. There were 3 responses from the community received, all in favor of approving the variance. Jennifer Wright motioned to approve the variance based on this being the only logical location to place the carport. John Bickel Seconded the motior~ Motion carried 5-0. MEETING ADJOURNED
