HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 1220 min68 The Plainview City Council met on December 20, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the City Council Chambers of the Plainview City Hall at 901 Broadway. The agenda for this meeting was posted in City Hall at 3:10 p.m. on December 16, 2011. Mayor John C. Anderson presided. Councilmembers present were: Charles Starnes - District 1, Cathy Waggoner - District 2, David Garcia - District 3, Ron Trusler- District 5, and Roland Nash - District 7. Councilmembers V. O. Ortega- District 4 and Wendell Dunlap- District 6 were absent. Staff members present were: Greg Ingham -City Manager, Mike Gilliland- Director of Public Works, Will Mull - Police Chief, Rusty Powers -Fire Chief, Daniel Born - Information Technology Specialist, Eric Turner -Main Street/CVB Coordinator and Belinda Hinojosa- City Secretary. News Media Present: Jessica Thornton - Plainview Herald Guests Present: Jerry Wofford Mayor Anderson delivered the invocation and led in the Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Anderson presented for consideration on second reading Ordinance No. 11- 3568, an Ordinance Amending the Zoning Map of the City of Plainview, Texas for Rezoning from an Agriculture (A) Zoning District to a Multifamily -2 (MF -2) Zoning District Said Parcel Being Wofford Subdivision, City of Plainview, Hale County, Texas the Same Being Located in the General Area of the 1500 Block of Mesa Drive, City of Plainview, Hale County, Texas; Cumulativeness Clause; Conflicts Clause; Severability Clause; And Effective Date. Since this was the second of two readings, the Council chose to forego the staff briefing and asked for public comment. There was no public comment. Councilmember Trusler moved to approve Ordinance No. 11 -3568 on second reading. The motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Garcia and carried by unanimous vote. Greg Ingham, City Manager presented for consideration the purchase of two cardiac monitor /defibrillators. We have budgeted for two cardiac monitors in our ambulances. We have four monitors, one in each ambulance. The monitors we have now are from Physio Control and Chief Powers recommends that we stay with the same brand. All staff is trained with this brand and staff recommends that we purchase two Physio Control cardiac monitors. The City Attorney has reviewed this and this meets the requirements. Mayor Anderson asked for public comment. There was no public comment. Councilmember Nash moved to purchase two Physio Control cardiac monitors. The motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Waggoner and carried by unanimous vote.
