First item on the agenda, approval of minutes. Ray Jameson made motion to accept minutes as
read and John Bickel seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Second item on the agenda, Case # 1315, the request of Roy Parr for a variance of nineteen (19)
feet of the required 25 foot front setback to build a 11 X 25 carport in a single family residential
two zoning district. The carport wilt he situated against the portion of the house that is set back
six (6) feet from the from setback thus the reason for needing only nineteen (19) feet variance.
Larry Gould stated that there were some responses in favor of the request. Fred Willis made
motion to gram variance as requested and Cesar Cervantes seconded. Motion carried 6 - 0.
Third item on the agevaia, Case # 1316, the request of Robert L Owens at 1008 Zephyr requesting
a variance to expand on a non-conforming use and a variance of 30 feet of the required 30 foot
front setback. Mr. Owens house is setting 6 ~ feet into the front setback. This would give him a
carport of 25 feet wide and 23 ½ feet long. ' Larry Gould stated that there was five (5) responses
on this ease, four which were in favor of the request and the one was against it. The negative
response was that it would decrease the value ofthe houses ofthe 11300 Blk of Zephyr. Charles
Hennagar took the floor and explained that he is the-contractor who is going to he doing the work
for Owens. Charles stated that the reason for the carport was to give Mr. Owens more protection
in the winter and fall seasons. Cesar Cervantes made motion to approve the variance and Fred
Willis seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Third item on the agenda, Case # 1317, the request ofFernando Hemandez at 1621 Joliet
requested a variance of six (6) feet of the required twenty-five (25) foot/}om setback to build a
4' x 17' porch on the from of the house. Larry noted that there was one (1) response to this which
is in favor of. John Biekel made motion to grant the variance as requested and Fred Willis
seconded. Motion carried 6-0.
Betty asked for any other business. None was brought forward.
