MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 1987, CITY HALL, 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Terry Teague.
Other board members present were Jack Burton, E.K. Hufstedler,
Ric woodward, Pat Stoner and John Oathout.
Staff present were: Mike McDonough, Director of Municipal
Services, and Jim Sewell, Building Inspector.
Visitor present was: Danny Knox.
B.A. Case No. 1031
Request of Danny Knox for a variance to construct a detached
accessory building (garage) within the required rear and side
yards in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District,
being Lot 10, Block 3, Bell Subdivision and located at 208
Zephyr.
Mr. McDonough presented the case to the Board. Using slides
and overhead projector, he indicated the property location and
where Mr. Knox intended to build. He also explained to the
board the reasons for the required setbacks and if Mr. Knox
was permitted to build to the property line it would prevent
him from having an overhand on the building.
Mr. Knox stated that he would not object to moving the
building back far enough to provide for an overhang.
After a question and answer period, Mr. Burton made a motion
to grant a variance to build within eighteen (18) inches of
the rear (east) and side (north) property lines. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Hufstedler and passed unanimously.
Having no further business, the Meeting was adjourned at 8:00
p.m.
