MONDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1988, 7:30 P.M.

MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jack Burton. Other
members present were Pat Stoner, Carolyn Warrick, Fred Bechtold, Lynn
Davis and Eddie Lopez.
Staff present: Jim Sewell, Building Inspector.
Visitors present: Franklin Ebeling.
B.A, CASE NO. 1064
Request of Keith White for a variance to construct an open carport in
the required front yard in an R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning
District, being Lot 6, Block 13, Edgemere Addition, Unit 4, and
located at 2810 W. 21st Street. The case was presented to the Board
by Mr. Sewell. With the use of an overhead projector, he indicated
the location of the property and how the carport would be placed in
relationship to the residence and property lines. Mr. Ebeling,
representing Keith White, stated that Mr. White was confined to a
wheelchair and needed the carport for weather protection. After a
short discussion, Ms. Warrick made a motion to grant a variance for
an open carport within 8' of the west side property line and 7'5" of
the front property line. Motion was seconded by Ms. Stoner and
carried unanimously.
B.A. CASE NO~ 1065
Request of W.F. Gilbert for a variance to construct an open carport
in the side and front yards in an R-! (Single-Family Residential)
Zoning District, being Lot 9, Block 1, Phoenix Subdivision and
located at 804 Amarillo Street. The case was presented to the Board
by Mr. Sewell. With the use of an overhead projector, he indicated
the location of the property and the relationShip of the carport to
the house and property line. Mr. Bechtold stated that Mr. Gilbert
had an existing concrete drive to the north side of the property line
and was requesting that the carport extend to the edge of the
existing concrete. After a short discussion, Ms. Stoner made a
motion to grant the variance with the stipulation that it be no
closer than 6" to the north side property line and 20' to the front
property line. Motion was seconded by Ms. Warrick and carried
unanimously.
