Fred Bechtold was present but abstained from serving on the Board due to a conflict of interest and as representative of Mr. Pendergrass- staff present was Jim Sewell, Building inspector and David Blackburn, City Attorney. B. A. CASE NO. 1068~. Request of R. J. Pendergrass for a variance to construct an open carport in the required front yard in a R-! (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District, being the West 30 feet of Lot 2 and all of Lot 3, Block 10, Edgemere Addition and located at 2902 W. 20th Street. The case was presented by Mr. Sewell. With the use of slides and overhead projection, he indicated immediate area of the location of the property the plot plan and picture of the existing structure. Mr. Bechtold stated the owner wanted to construct an approximately 38' x 12' open carport that would extend to 6" from the West property line and 23' into the required front yard. He was questioned by the Board about the type of construction and how runoff would drain. He stated that it would be constructed of metal and the runoff would be on the owner's property. After further discussion among the Board members Ms. Stoner made a motion to grant a variance to construct an open carport approximately 38' x 12' to within 6" of the West property line and 23' into the required front yard. The motion was seconded by Mr. Davis and carried unanimously.
