HomeMy WebLinkAbout09.25.1989 BA MinutesBOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING MINUTES Monday, September 25, 1989 7:30 P.M. - City Hall The Board of Adjustment met in regular session with Chairman Jack Burton presiding. Other members present were Lynn Davis, Eddie Lopez and Pat Stoner. Staff members Mike McDonough, Director of Municipal Services; and Jim Sewell, Building Inspector met with the Board. Visitors present were Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bechtold, Alan Duncan and Coye Duncan. B. A. CASE NO. 1081: Request of Melvin Hudgins to construct an open metal carport in the required front yard in a R-2 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District being Lot 4, Block 4, Boynton Subdivision and located at 112 S.E. 9th Street. The case was presented to the board by Mr. McDonough through the use of audio visual aids. Mr. McDonough indicated the location of the property, a site plan of the intended construction and a view of the surrounding property. Mr. Bechtold stated that the carport was to constructed of metal and drain to the front. After a short discussion, Ms. Stoner moved, seconded by Mr. Davis to approve the variance. Motion carried unanimously. B. A. CASE NO. 1082: Request of Melvin Hudgins to construct an open metal carport in the required side yard in a R-2 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District being the East 140 feet of Lot 9, Perdue Subdivision and located at 912 S. Austin. The case was presented to the board by Mr. McDonough. The location of the property, proposed construction and the surrounding area was viewed by the board. Mr. Bechtold stated that the carport was to be construction of metal and located on the south side of the residence. He further stated that the carport would be 2 ft. 9 in. into the south side property line. After a short discussion Ms. Stoner moved, seconded by Mr. Lopez to approve the variance as presented. CASE NO. 1083: Request of Alan Duncan to construct portion of residence in the required rear yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District, being Lot 94, Westridge Park ~3 Addition and located at 4601 W. 4th Street. The case was presented to the board by Mr. McDonough. He stated that due to the shape of the lot the planned residential construction would come within 9 ft. of the rear property line by the garage. The proposed construction plot plan location of the property and the the present appearance of the construction site and surrounding area was viewed by the board. After a short discussion Ms Stoner moved, seconded by Mr. Lopez to grant the variance to build within 9 ft. of the rear property line as proposed. Motion carried unanimously. Having no further business before the board Ms. Stoner moved, seconded by Mr. Davis to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Jim S~well Building Inspector Presiding Board Member
