Monday, October 22, 1990, 7:30 p.m., City Hall
The meeting was called to order by Acting Chairperson Lynn Davis.
Other members present were Randy Ballinger, Carolyn Warrick, and
Betty Gonzalez.
Staff present was Jim Sewell, Building Inspector; Janice
Anderson, Secretary; and Alton Jackson, City Council Liason.
Visitors present were Fred Bechtold and Orvil Rollins.
B. A. Case No. 1102:
The request of Jacob Masso to construct an open carport in the
required side yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning
District on Lot 1, Block 8, Brock, Unit No. 2 and located at 1313
F!oydada.
The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell. A site plan
of the location of the carport was shown by overhead projection
and a video of the location and area was shown to the Board.
Mr. Bechtold described the type of construction and stated the
carport would be 24' wide x 20' deep.
After a short discussion Mr. Ballinger moved, seconded by Ms.
Gonzales to grant a 6' variance in the required North side yard
to allow for construction of the carport. Motion carried
unanimously.
B. A. Case No. 1103:
The request of Virgil Phillips to construct an addition to a
residence in the required front yard in a R-1 (Single-Family
Residential) Zoning District on Lot 82, Westridge Park, No. 3 and
located at 403 Mesa Circle.
Application was withdrawn by Mr. Phillips 10-17-90 as he would
not need the variance.
B. A. Case No. 1104:
The request of Orvil Rollins to construct an open carport in the
required front and side yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential)
Zoning District on Lot 3, Block 1, Phenix Addition and located at
8.07 Zephyr.
The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell. A site plan
of the location of the carport was shown by overhead projection
and a video of the location and area was shown to the Board.

Mr. Rollins described the location and construction of the
carport for the Board and stated the carport would be 19½' x 24'.
After a short discussion Mr. Ballinger moved, seconded by Ms.
Warrick to grant a variance of 4 feet into the required side yard
and 10 feet into the required front yard to allow for
construction of a carport. Motion carried u~animously.
With no further business pending, Ms. Gonzales moved, seconded by
Mr. Ballinger to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting
adjourned 7:55 p.m.
