SAi1ITATIl7N RATES ORDINANCE NO. 89-2786 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS., A1~IENDING SECTION 24-47 ENTITLED REFUSE COLLECTION FEES; WATER TERMINATION OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY' OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS WHEREAS, City Administration has completed a detailed analysis of sanitation revenues and expenses; and WHEREAS, City Administration has completed an analysis of the need far a new landfill; and WHEREAS, new Texas Department of Health. and Environmental Protection Agency guidelines are creating increased expense for refuse collection. and disposal; and WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled. City Council-..:Mee"tng of March 14, 1989, the proposed rate adjustments in the Sanitation Department were reviewed by the City .Council; and WHEREAS,. on March 28, 1989, the proposed rate adjustment in the Sanitation Department was again reviewed by th.e City Council. ~_ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City if Plainview, Texas, that Section 24'-47 entitled "Refuse Collection Fees; Water Termination" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Plainview, Texas,. is amended in its entirety and from henceforth shall read as follows Section 24-47. Refuse collection fees; water termination. a) Class I: The collection and removal of refuse from houses., buildings and premises used for residential purposes shall be C1a551f1ed as Class I. Residential houses are hereby classified as follows: Monthly charge Crass 1-A ----- One family residences $ 8.00 Class 1-B ----- Two family residence with one (1} water meter. $16.00 Class 1-C ----- Two family residence on separate water. meters, each unit. $ 8.00 1 of 4 Class 1-D -----.One family residence and single.. apartment on one (1) water meter., each unit.,.... $ 8.00 Class 1-E ----- Apartment house ar trailer park with three (3) er rnore family:. units, with one (I) mandatory three yard container. Class l-F ----- For each additional container determined to be needed`by the Sanitation Superintendent. Class 1-G -----.Any Class I customer who desires Glass II service may be provided such subject to the approval of the Sanitation Superintendent. X32.00 $32.00 (b) Class II. The collection .and removal of refuse..fromhouses, buildings and- premises, used for commercial and business purposes shall be classified as Class TI. Refuse collection. rates shall be as falTows: Container Size 3 or 4 cu.bic..yard ----- 8 cubic yard ----- Shared Rate.: Shall be based upon the charge for service as set out above shared by the number of cult©mers using the container in - accordance ~,rith the service needs of each but in no case for each customer's' service requirement less than the following: Special .service charges: Pack extra empty - 3 or 4 cubic yard ----- Number of times emptied per week 2 times 4 times 6 times $36.04 $ 72.00 69.00 138.00 19.00 38.00 14..00 8 cubic yard -- -- 20.00 2 of 4 $108.00 207.00 57.00 {~} Charges due monthly.
