AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE UPDATE OF THE
TELEPHONE SYSTEM AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas,
finds it necessary to appropriate specific funds out of the General
Fund; Water and Sewer Fund; Sanitation Fund and Service Center
Fund for the upgrading of the telephone system; and
WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service will be
electronic switching equipment in the near future; and
installing
WHEREAS, the installation of the equipment will allow the City
of Plainview to improve phone service for its citizens at the City
Offices; and
WHERE,, this Ordinance deals with the daily operation of City
Departments in the public interest which creates an emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas that the following appropriation is made for
the acquisition of equipment to update the existing phone systems
for the City Offices:
General Fund -
Water and Sewer Funds -
Sanitation Fund -
Service Center Fund -

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency exists as shown in
the preamble of this Ordinance, therefore the enactment of this
Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a
public necessity that the rule requiring proposed Ordinances to be
presented at two separate Council Meetings be dispensed with; and
this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of its passage.
