HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-2722320 ORDIN~NCR NO. 87-2722 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TH~ PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING OF ANY MOTOR VEHICLE ON A PORTION OF NORTH QUINCY STREET, PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, PROVIDING A PENALTY AND PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE AS AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas has determined that it would be in the best interest of the public that parking, stopping or standing of motor vehicles of any kind be prohibited on the following portion of North Quincy Street, City of Plainview, Texas, to wit: From the North right of way line of West 24th Street to the South right of way line of Industrial Boulevard. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas: Section 1: Parking, stopping or standing of any kind of motor vehicle on the East and West sides of that portion of North Quincy Street from its. Intersection with the North right of way line of West 24th Street to the South right of way line of Industrial Boulevard is prohibited. Section 2: Ail ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, in conflict herewith, or hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof. Section 3: Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished under the provisions as set forth within this Code under Section 1-5. The necessity to prohibit parking, stopping or standing of motor vehicles of any kind on that portion of North Quincy Street, in Plainview, Texas, as herein described, creates an emergency and it is an imperative public necessity that more than one reading thereof be, and the same is hereby suspended; this ordinance shall be passed and taking effect as an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as provided by law, and it is so ordained. 1 of 2 PASSED and APPROVED on first and final reading this the 22nd day of September , 1987.
