ORDINANCE NO. 87-2731
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AMENDING
CHAPTER 4, AMBULANCES OF THE PLAINIVEW CITY CODE;
ESTABLISHING RATES FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE; PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE."
W~R. REAS, the City of Plainview, by and thru its City Council,
has the authority and duty to govern and regulate the permitted
uses of its streets and public ways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has the right, duty and
obligation to protect and regulate ambulance services occurring
within its corporate limits, as such are governmental functions as
set forth in Section 102.001 (2) of the Civil Practice and
Remedies Code; and
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Code, Section 4-3, Rates,
currently sets the maximum rates which may be charged by an
ambulance service operating within the corporate limits of the
City of Plainview pursuant to a franchise; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas,
has determined, after reviewing and hearing the evidence, that a
change in the allowable rates is in the best interest of the City
of Plainview and its citizens.
NOW, T~F. REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW:
That Section 4-3, of Chapter 4, Ambulances, of the Code of
the City of Plainview, Texas, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 1:
A) Non Emergency Base Rate

Emergency Base Rate
shall include the following"

1. Emergency Run (Code 3)
2. Emergency Run (Code 3 - Code 1)
3. Night Call
4. Intubation
5. IV Therapy
6. Cardiac Monitor

Section 2: Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall be
uneffected thereby.
Section 3: This ordinance shall become and take effect upon
its lawful passage.
