ORDINANCE NO. 88-2745
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST ALPINE
DRIVE TO BE A ONE-WAY STREET FOR MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC
IN THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
AND PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE AS AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Southwest Alpine Drive between West Crestway and
South Columbia Street is adjacent to a public school, and two-way
motor vehicle traffic has created traffic congestion on this
portion of Southwest Alpine Drive; and
WHEREAS, after an engineering and traffic investigation, the
City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas has determined that it
would be in the best interest of the public that Southwest Alpine
Drive between West Crestway and South Columbia Street be declared
to be a one-way street, South, to all vehicular traffic;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas:
Section 1: Southwest Alpine Drive between the intersection
of West Crestway Street and South Columbia Street shall be, and the
same, hereby declared to be a one-way, South, to all vehicular
traffic, and any automobile, motorcycle, motorscooter, or any type
of motor vehicle which is self propelled, shall be driven on South
West Alpine Drive between West Crestway and South Columbia Street
in the direction of South only.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any automobile,
motorcycle, motorscooter, or any type of motor vehicle which is
self-propelled, in any direction other than South or Southwest
Alpine Drive between the intersection of West Crestway Street and
the intersection of South Columbia Street.
Section 2: Ail ordinances or part of any ordinances of the
City of Plainview, Texas in conflict herewith is hereby amended to
conform with the provisions hereof.
Section 3: Any person who shall violate or fail to comply
with any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be punished by
a fine as such is set forth in Section 1-5, Plainview City Code,
pursuant to law.
WHEREAS, an emergency exists as shown in the preamble of this
ordinance, the enactment of this ordinance is declared to be an
emergency measure thereby creating a public necessity that the rule
requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate
Council Meetings be dispensed with; and this ordinance shall be in
effect from the date of its passage.

ORDINANCE NO. 88-2745
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview did on
March 8, 1988, at a Regular Session of said City Council pass and
adopt Ordinance No. 88-2745.. The Descriptive Caption and Penalties
of said Ordinance are as follows:

DRIVE TO BE A ONE-WAY STREET FOR MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC
IN THE CITY OF 'PLAINVIEW, TEXAS PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
AND PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE AS AN
EMERGENCY.
PENALTIES -.
The penalties for the violation of said Ordinance are as
follows:
Section 3: Any person who shall violate or fail to comply
with any of the provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be punished by
a fine as such is set forth in Section 1-5, Plainview City Code,
pursuant to law.
