HomeMy WebLinkAbout13 0620 minThe City Council met on June 20, 2013, at City Hall, 901 Broadway, Plainview, Texas. The agenda for this meeting was posted in City Hall at 11:00 a.m. on June 17, 2013. Mayor Wendell Dunlap presided. Councilmembers present were: Cathy Waggoner - District 2, Shane Martinez- District 5, Lionel Garcia - District 6 and Eric Hastey- District 7. Councilmembers Charles Starnes - District 1, David Garcia - District 3 and V. O. Ortega - District 4 were absent. Staff members present were: Greg Ingham -City Manager, Leslie Pearce -City Attorney, Sarianne Beversdorf - Director of Finance, Jeffrey Snyder- Assistant City Manager, William Mull- Police Chief, Rey Mora - Animal Control, Daniel Born - Information Technology Specialist and Belinda Hinojosa -City Secretary. News Media Present: Jessica Thornton, Plainview Herald Mayor Pro Tem Cathy Waggoner led in the Invocation. Councilmembers Charles Starnes - District 1, David Garcia - District 3 and V. O. Ortega - District 4 were granted excused absences. Chief William Mull presented for consideration Resolution R13 -288, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, Approving the Request of Plainview Rodeo Association to Host The "BarNone Rodeo 69 Parade "; Authorizing the Filing of the Agreement for the Temporary Closure of State Right -Of -Way With the Texas Department of Transportation for this Event; Declaring that the Event Serves a Public Purpose; and Agreeing to Comply with Regulations. This is a request from the Rodeo Association to hold the BarNone Rodeo Parade on Saturday, June 22, 2013. This will authorize the parade and the execution of an agreement with TxDOT to temporarily close State Right of Way as part of the parade route. Mayor Dunlap asked for public comment. There was no public comment. Mayor Pro Tem Waggoner moved to adopt Resolution R13 -288. The motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Lionel Garcia and carried by unanimous vote. The Council and staff reviewed the agenda for the City Council meeting of June 25, 2013.
