ORDINANCE NO. 00-3243
An Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Plainview, Hale
County, Texas, to Amend Chapter 2, Article 2-11 Regular Meetings; Administration;
Cumulativeness Clause; Conflicts Clause; Severability Clause; and EffectiVe Date.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview has reviewed Chapter 2 of the Plainview Code
of Ordinances, entitled Administration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview has deemed it would be in the public interest
to amend the Code of Ordinances addressing city council meeting times.
THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW HEREBY ORDAINS that Chapter 2, Administration is hereby
amended:
SECTION I
Section 2-11. Regular Meetings.
The mayor and council shall meet regularly at least once in every month at such times and places as
the council may prescribe by resolution, Special meetings may be held on the call of the mayor or of
three (3) or more members. Except as allowed by state law, all meetings shall be public.
SECTION II
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter, or diminish the
applicability or enforcement of other ordinances restricting, regulating or governing the subject matter
herein.
SECTION III
All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas in conflict herewith, are
hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION IV
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof be deemed invalid for any reason, such holding
shall not render or invalidate any other section, subsection, sentence, provision, clause, phrase, or
word severable therefrom and the same shall be deemed severable for this purpose.

SECTION V
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication as required by
law.
