EXPENDITURE OF FEDERAL SHARED SEIZURE INCOME FUND #28
ORDINANCE NO. 98-3156
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-3135 TO
APPROPRIATE FUNDS WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND FOR
DEPARTMENT 7 (POLICE) FOR THE BUDGETED FISCAL
YEAR OF 1997-1998 IN ORDER TO REFLECT AN
EXPENDITURE OF THE FUNDS FROM FEDERAL SHARED
SEIZURE INCOME FUND #28.
WI~REAS, on the 23ra day of September, 1997, through the adoption of Ordinance No. 97-
3135 the City Council of the City of Plainview approved the 1997-1998 budget; and
WHEREAS, the budget is a general guideline for revenue and expenditures and may require
periodic amendments; and
WltEREAS, the City Council has determined that as of January 22, 1998, the expenditure
of a portion funds from Federal Shared Seizure Fund #28 should be used to help law enforcement
(Plainview Police Department) to purchase:
A. Specialized investigative equipment; in the amount of $5,000.55
B. Cameras for Patrol units; in the amount of $10,400.00
C. To reimbursed United States Marshals Service on a vehicle awarded to the Plainview
Police Department; in the amount of $1,174.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined this request for the release of funds from
Federal Shared Seizure Income Fund #28 meets requirement of State and Federal laws and is in
accordance with City Policy; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance certifies funds are available to support the request for
the release of said funds; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Plainview,
the 1997-1998 budget is hereby amended to appropriate funds as follows:

SECTION II
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter, or
diminish the applicability or enforcement of other Ordinances restricting, regulating, or
governing the subject matter herein.
SECTION III
All Ordinances or portions of any Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, in conflict
herewith are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION IV
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof, be deemed invalid for any reasons,
such holding shall not render or invalidate any other section, subsection, sentence,
provision, clause, phrase or word severable therefrom, and the same shall be deemed
severable for this purpose.
SECTION V
This Ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication as
required by law.
