AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97-3135 TO APPROP~ATE FUNDS
WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND FOR DEPARTMENT 52 (CITY/COUNTY HLTH) FOR
THE BUDGETED FISCAL YEAR OF 1997-1998~ CUMULATIVENESS CLAUSE;
CONFLICTS CLAUSE; SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of September, 1997, through the adoption of Ordinance No.
97-3135 the City Council of the City of Plainview approved the 1997-1998 budget; and
WllEREAS, the budget is a general guideline for revenue and expenditures and may require
periodic amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a need for the City to budget funds for the
proper operation and maintenance of the Plainview Hale County Health Department; and
WltEREAS, the City Council has determined that as of January 1, 1998, the compensation
for the Medical Authority shall be $1,400.00 per month; and
WltEREAS, the Director of Finance certifies that funds are available to support the salary
adjustments stated herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Plainview that
the 1997-1998 budget is hereby amended to appropriate funds as follows:
SECTION I

SECTION II
Provisions of this Ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter, or diminish
the applicability or enforcement of other Ordinances restricting, regulating, or governing the subject
matter herein.

SECTION III
Provisions of this Ordinance shall not alter or diminish the applicability or enforcement of the
City of Plainview Personnel Policy provisions, including, but not limited to at-will employment
provisions.
SECTION IV
All Ordinances or portions of any Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, in conflict
herewith are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION V
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof, be deemed invalid for any reason, such
holding shall not render or invalidate any other section, subsection, sentence, provision, clause,
phrase, or word severable therefrom, and the same shall be deemed severable for this purpose.
SECTION VI
This Ordinance shah be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication as required
by law.
