ORDINANCE NO. 97-3133
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS
ADOPTING A PAY PLAN FOR THE NON-PUBLIC-SAFETY
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW AND
ESTABLISHING AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 6, 1997, salaries were adjusted for certified police officers; and
WHEREAS, on May 27, 1997, salaries were adjusted for certified fire and EMS personnel;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council now determines the need to adjust salaries for non-public-
safety personnel of the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, the administration of the pay plan shall be according to the Personnel Policy
of the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance certifies that funds are available to support the salary
adjustments in accordance with current City Policy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Plainview that
the pay plan as indicated in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, is
adopted; and
FURTHER, the pay plan for non-public-safety employees shall be effective beginning
September 1, 1997; and
Further, the pay plan step increase for certified police personnel shall become effective on
October 1, 1997.

if a promotion to a new position occurs and the entry step I is not'at least a 2.5% salary Increase, a minimum increase of
2.5% may be given, but additional increase for steps will not occur until the position entry salary reaches a step which is
more than the entry salary of that person, then will Increase only to the amount Indicated, regardless of the amount
increase.
