Motion passed 5 - 0. Director of Community Development, Muff London presented BA CASE 1237, the request of Billy Thompson for a variance of three (3) feet out of twenty (20) feet side setback as stated in Section 32 for a garage in a Residential - 1 Zoning District on the West 73 feet of Lot 9, Block 5 of the Edgemere Addition, (2619 W 19th). Ms. London presented transparencies and a video of the property. Mm. M.H. Autry, of 2800 W 19th, Robert J. Pajart, 2614 W 18th, and Vicki Green, of 2803 W 19th all mailed responses in favor of the request to the office of Community Development. Chairman, Whit Hunt asked Mr. Thompson to come forward and explain the hardship which would caus~e the board to grant this request. Mr. Thompson explained the garage as proposed woutd align with the front of the house and other houses on the block. If the garage is moved back it would interfere with an existing glass sliding door and sewer and gas lines. The driveway is there and would align with location of garage. Ron Trusler made a motion to deny the request, because the garage would have a set back of 20'. The motion failed due to a lack of a second. Ridley Gibson made a motion to approve the request because of the back sliding door location and gas and sewer lines, on the condition that the garage be built according to the plans submitted. Nathan Boles seconded the motion. Motion passed 4 - 0 with Ron Trusler abstaining. With~~,~no f~rther, b siness to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
