HomeMy WebLinkAbout11.22.1993 BA MinutesBOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING City of Plainview Monday, November 22, 1993 MINUTES The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Lynn Davis. Board members present were: Lynn Davis, Chairman, Lee Roy Lightfoot, Betty Gonzales, Jannie Benson, Eddie Sessions and Don Willis. Staff member present was Muff London, Director of Community Development. Lee Roy Lightfoot made a motion that the minutes from the October 25, 1993 meeting be approved as written. Jannie Benson seconded. Motion passed 6 - 0. BA CASE 1205: The request of Lawrence Martin on behaff of AIIsup Convenience Stores for the following variances: 1. Ten (10) feet of the thirty (30) feet required front setback for a pump island as defined in Section 34:3; 2. Ten (10) feet of the twenty (20) feet required front setback for a canopy as defined in Section 34:3; In a Commercial - 2 Zoning District and being all of lots 1-3, Block 3, of the West Lynn Addition (1307 W 24th St.). Director of Community Development, Muff London presented video and transparencies of the property in question. Lawrence Martin was present and spoke on behaff of AIIsup Inc. Mr. Martin stated that the pump island was going in the direction as indicated on the plan included in the boards information packet, to allow traffic to pull up to the pumps and not block access to the convenience store. Mr. Martin stated that the hardship requiring the variance was to provide a safer location and space needed for access to the convenience store. Motion was made by Lee Roy Lightfoot to approve the request for front setbacks at 1307 W. 24th St. Motion seconded by Betty Gonzales. Motion passed 6 - 0. Meeting adjourned by Chairman Lynn Davis.
