BOARD OF ADJUSTMF/TTMEETING MINUTES
Monday, September 28, 1992, 7:30 P.M.
COuncil Chambers, City Hall, 901 Broadway
The meeting was called to order by chairperson, Lynn Davis.
Other board members present were: Leroy Lightfoot, Paul Lyle,
Mary Ann Escamilla, Eddie Sessions, Don Willis, Betty Gonzales
and Randy Ballinger.
Staff present were: Jim Lindstrom, Building Inspections/Code
Enforcement Department; and Janice Anderson, Secretary, Community
Services.
B. A. CASE NO. 1156: Request of Juan Jose Gamboa for a variance
to park a mobile home for living quarters in a M-2 (Heavy
Manufacturing District) Zoning District on Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,
13 and 14, Block 1, Railroad Addition and generally located at
1200 N. Date.
Jim Lindstrom presented and stated there was one (1) reply which
was in favor of this variance.
Mr. Gamboa stated that vandalish was a problem and need for this
variance.
After a short discussion, Paul lyle moved, seconded by Betty
Gonzalez to grant the request for a period of three (3) years
conditional that the variance be void if the property is sold
during this period. Motion carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1157: Request of Wayne Fore for variance of
eleven and one half (11½) feet of twenty (20) feet required in
Section 34:5.5 for placement of a garage and storage ~building to
be enetered from the alley being the north twnety-five (25) feet
Lot 15, all Lot 16, Block 15, Brock Addition, Unit 10 and
generall located at 1312 Jefferson.
Jim Lindstrom presented and stated there were no replies on this
request.
Mr. Fore stated this request was for the parking of a vehicle.
After a shor discussion, Eddie Sessions moved, seconded by Randy
Ballinger to grant this request. Motion carried unanimously.

B. A. CASE NO. 1158: Request of Michael T. Malone for a variance
of fOurteen (14) feet of twenty (20) feet required in Section
34:5.5 for entry into garage and storage building to be
constructed six (6) feet off rear property line, being Lot 48,
Westridge Park, Unit No. 3 and generally located at 202
Navasota.
Jim Lindstrom presented and stated there were no replies on this
request.
Mr. Malone stated the building would be used for storage.
he realizes he must relocate the gas line.
Also
After a short discussion Paul Lyle moved, seconded by Leroy
Lightfoot to grant the variance. Motion carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1159: Request of David Wilder for a variance of
sixteen (16) feet of the twenty (20) required in Section 34:5.5
for placement of a garage and storage building to be entered from

the alley being Lot 2, Slaughter Subdivision on S.W. ~
33, Block JK-2 and generally located at 103 Yonkers.
Jim Lindstrom presented and stated there were no replies on this
request.
After a short discussion of the request Leroy Lightfoot moved,
seconded by Betty Gonzalez to grant the request. Motion carried
unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1160: Request of Douglas Kopp for a variance of
twelve (12) feet of twenty-five (25) feet required in Section 32
for placement of a covered patio and deck being Lot 73, Westridge
Park, Unit No. 3 and generally located at 402 Navasota.
Jim Lindstrom presented and stated there were no replies on this
request.
It was brought to the attention of the board that the request was
to be fourteen (14) feet of the twenty-five (25) feet required
due to an error in building.
Paul Lyle moved, seconded by Eddie Session to approve the request
of fourteen (14) of the twenty-five (25) subject to
renotification and publication of this change and checking with
Wally Hatch, City Attorney for clarification. Motion carried
unanimously.
