Monday, June 29, 1992, 7:30 P.M.
Council Chambers, City Hall, 901 Broadway
The meeting was called to order by chairperson, Lynn Davis.
Other board members present were: Leroy Lightfoot, Eddie
Sessions, Jannie Benson, Randy Ballinger and Betty Gonzales.
Staff present were: Larry Gould, Building Inspections
Department; Jim Lindstrom, Code Enforcement Department; Roy
Reese, Code Enforcement; and Janice Anderson, Secretary,
Community Services.
B. A. CASE NO. 1143: Request of College Heights Baptist
Church for a variance of 28 feet of the 33 feet required in
Section 34 in a R-2 (Single-Family Residential District)
Zoning District, being Lots 11-16, Block 26, College Hill
Addition and generally located at 802 Quincy.

B. A. CASE NO. 1144: Request of Darlene Lunday for a
variance to continue to park (for three years) a mobile home
for use as living quarters in a R-2 (Single-Family
Residnetial District) Zoning District, being Lot 1, Block
61, Highland Addition and generally located at 801 W. 15th
Street.

request as stated. Motion carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1146: Request of Antonio Mendez, Jr. for a
variance to the maximum alowed size of a carport (3:31) in
order to build a carport 30 feet by 30 feet in a CBD
(Central Business District) Zoning District, being Lot 1,
Block 15, Original Town Addition and generally located at
829 Beech Street.
Jim Lindstrom presented the case to the board. One favorable
reply was received. No negative replies received.
Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Betty Gonzales to approve the
request as stated. Motion carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1147: Request of Cecil Curry for the
following variances required in Section 3:31 and Section
34:5 (4):
To build a carport 2 feet longer than the maximjm of 24
feet;
at
Five (5) feet of the five feet setback required for a
carport next to the alley;
Being Lot 1, North 15 feet of Lot 2, Block 2, Simmons
Addition and generally located at 1400 Canyon.

B. A. CASE NO. 1148: Request of Ernest Gentry for a
variance of five (5) feet of the feet side yard setback
required in Section 32 to be used as an addition to a
residence, being JK-2, North 40, 62½' x 208.7' of West 7th,
Tract 9 A-6 and generally located at 715 W. 7th Street.

Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Betty Gonzales to approve the
request as stated. Motion carried unanimously.

B. A. CASE NO. 1149: Request of Douglas F. Buie for a
variance of five (5) feet of the eight (8) feet side yard
setback required in Section 32 to construct a workshop and
storage buidling, being Lot 16, Block 2, Cowart Addition and
generally located at 1204 Borger.
Rou Reese presented the case to the board. One reply in favor
was received. No negative replies received.
Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Betty Gonzales to approve the
request as stated. Motion carried unanimously.
