Wally Hatch, Interim City Manager advised the Council that the TDCJ firing range had
been put on hold because of state budget constraints. TDCJ is requesting the City to
complete construction of the berm, parking lot and road, with TDCJ putting little if any
money into the project until funding can be received. Mr. Hatch stated he had called
Mike McManness with TDCJ asking what dollars the state would be putting into the
project and he had still not heard anything from TDCJ. The City's in-kind costs are
estimated to be $50,000. Chief Mull stated the facilities the police department uses
right now are more than adequate for the police department.
It was the consensus of the Council to put the matter on hold.
Chief Mull presented a request from the Hospital Authority Board to prohibit parallel
