BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Support Services
The City of Plainview Park Advisory Board as appointed by City Ordinance Number 95-3035
dated as approved March 28, 1995, held an open meeting at 4:30 P.M., Thursday, February 11,
1999 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 901 Broadway Street, Plainview, Texas. Minutes for
this meeting are hereby submitted as follows.
ITEM
Call to order by Chairperson Mrs. Kiser at 4:35 P.M.
2. Invocation given by Mrs. McDonald.
3. Members present were: Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Kiser, Mrs. Luna, and Mrs. McDonald.
4. Members absent were: Mrs. Riggins, Mrs. Recio, Mrs. Walker, and Mr. Miller.
5. No guests were present.
6. City Staff present were: Mr. Rusty Reese, Park Superintendent.
7. January's meeting minutes were given by Mrs.Kiser and approved as read.
8. Old Business -Park Playground 1rnprovements
a. After discussions, on the need to upgrade the park playgrounds that was introduced
by Gary Miller for discussions, a motion was made by Mrs. Davis. Motion was
second by Mrs. McDonald to make recommendations to the City Council to
upgrade the City's park playground equipment with play structures, giving priority
to the parks with the higher degree of citizen use. Beginning with seventh (7"')
Street Park. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
9. New Business -
a. Discussed the interest for a walking/jogging trail in M.B. Hood Park. After
discussion, Mrs. Kiser made a motion and motion was second by Mrs. Davis, to
proceed to investigate the possibility of developing a cost plan for a trail in the
M.Q. 1 -food Park and to develop plans for trails in other parks and prioritize them.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
10. Next meeting set for March 11, 1999.
11. Meeting adjourned at 5:35 P.M.
