HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-15-1972 Board of Health MinutesThe Plainview -Hale County Board of Health met at 12:30 P.M. June 15, 1972,
at the Holidy Inn with the following tresent: Dr. b.J. Truitt, Dr. Felix
Crawford, Dr. Randall Heye, Dr. Gerald Wagner, David Oates, Oliver Harmel,
Sam Langford, Judge Henry Heck, Mary Lou Truesdale, and Clara Neis.
Minutes of the meeting of May 18, 1972 were read and approved.
San1Langford made a motion that bills for May be paid. Oliver Harmel seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Wagner expressed attreciation for office personnel and stated that they
were shorthanded with vacations, etc.
Dr. Wagner report that they had not received notice from the City or County
on budget and they were still waiting for migrant funds. He stated that of the
$150,000 to $160,000 spent that over $100,000 came from HEW, $20,000 from State,
and the remaining from county and city.
In general discussion Judge Heck stated that he felt the county would approve
a budget -equivalent to last year.
David Oates stated that they had verbal confirmation for the Research Grant.
David Oates reported that a Project Policy Board would be required. President
Crawford Crawford appointed a committee composed of David Oates, Dr.. Wagner
and Oliver Hamel to study and analytze what they wanted, that we can do, and
report to the county and city to see if this is in line with their wishes.
Mary- Lou Truesdale gave each member a copy of the services performed in May.
She stated that Margaret Rivera, clinic assistant, was in the intensive care
unit in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, from injuries received in a car accident
which she had on her way to Petersburg Clinic. Also nurse Betty Morton was
resigning effective August 1, 1972.
No other business appearing, the meeting adjourned.

During the month of May four Family Service Clinics were held with an average
attendance of 15, This number reflects an increase of 3 patients per clinic over
April.
Changes in the Family Service Clinic schedule was made. Clinic registeration now
begins at 1:00 p.mo and patients are seen by the physician beginning at 2:00
